We focus on building community-rooted solutions
New Horizons Impact is a place-based consulting and strategy firm working at the intersection of community, capital, and innovation. We partner with nonprofits, institutions, and developers to design and implement initiatives that are grounded in local context and built for long-term sustainability. Our work bridges strategy and execution. We help organizations strengthen fundraising, build meaningful partnerships, and develop programs that respond to real community needs while positioning them for growth.
We’re experts in strategy, partnerships, and impact implementation
Every day, we help organizations strengthen the systems, relationships, and resources they rely on to deliver meaningful impact. About the Founder
Saherah Khan is a nonprofit leader, social impact strategist, and founder of New Horizons Impact (NHI).
As the eldest daughter of immigrants from South Korea and Pakistan and a first-generation college graduate, Saherah’s work is deeply personal. Raised on stories of sacrifice, resilience, and survival, she has dedicated her career to expanding access and opportunity for communities too often overlooked by traditional systems. Her work is rooted in the belief that every community already holds the wisdom needed for lasting change and that meaningful transformation happens when communities are invested in.
Throughout her career, Saherah has worked alongside youth, families, and community-based organizations across the areas of education, mental health, workforce development, and affordable housing. She is especially passionate about helping organizations build the infrastructure, partnerships, and long-term sustainability needed to create generational impact.
Her background also includes public policy and constituent services work in Virginia, where she supported community members navigating government systems and gained firsthand insight into the intersection of policy, advocacy, and community need. That experience continues to shape her approach to systems change, public-private collaboration, and equitable community development.
Through both NHI and the future New Horizons Foundation, Saherah hopes to help reimagine how philanthropy and community investment can better serve historically under-resourced communities. Her vision includes creating pathways for economic mobility, supporting nonprofit and grassroots leaders, and establishing scholarship opportunities for first-generation and low-income students navigating systems their families were never taught to access.
Saherah holds a BS in Business Management and a BA in Public and Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech, as well as a MS in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. During her graduate program, she completed her Practicum at UPenn’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships, where she focused on community-engaged scholarship and strengthening pathways to educational equity and long-term neighborhood wellbeing through work in Philadelphia Public Schools.
